Evaluation of Pelvic Muscle Activity

There are many methods of evaluation used to determine the best treatment plan for you. These evaluations can include:

External Observation

This is used to identify your ability to isolate your pelvic floor muscles. Any asymmetries or scars are also noted as possible areas needing treatment.

Internal Examination

This method helps us to assess the musculoskeletal part of your pelvic region. The internal examination helps us to identify your pelvic floor muscle strength, endurance, flexibility, symmetry, and relaxation ability. It also helps us identify any restrictions and organ positions. These are typically vaginal examinations for women or rectal examinations for men.

Rehabilitation Ultrasound Imaging

Our ultrasound imaging machine allows us to visualize your pelvic floor muscles in action. This helps guide your treatment plan and also allows you a better view of what your muscles may be doing.
